Los Angeles Athletic Club
On a normal Monday in the heart of Downtown LA, at the Los Angeles Athletic Club, Krystle and Stanley prepared to say their I Do’s. All around, the everything buzzed with excitement, and the November sun cast a warm glow over the heart of the city, reflecting off the skyscrapers above us and showering down golden light. It was the perfect day to get married.
Inside, though, Krystle and Stanley were protected from the bustle by their friends and family, as the Los Angeles Athletic Club offered a safe haven of calm during their getting ready.
After the first look, we headed up to the roof for some great city shots. The Los Angeles Athletic club sits amongst many tall high rise buildings around LA, which was fun for getting great architecture photos.
Krystle & Stanley
You may remember Krystle and Stanley from their lively and fun engagement photos at the Santa Barbara Courthouse. These two lovebirds are laid back, and they know how to have fun… but more on that later!
As Krystle and her bridesmaids primped and preened for the indoor ceremony at the Los Angeles Athletic Club, I ran off to take capture photos of her incredible Pronovias dress in the venue’s study. The venue is such a great mix of classic and modern, really complementing Krystle and Stanley’s vibrant personalities and vision for the day.
Before heading over to find Stanley for the couple’s first look, I couldn’t help but grab a few incredible shots of Krystle back in the study. Shooting indoors can be a challenge, but it’s fun to make the right light for just the perfect shot.
The ceremony hall was dark! This was the first time in my career that I’ve had to use flashes during a ceremony, but the photos turned out great, and the lighting I set up added an artsy modern flair to the setting.
Loved the ring bearer’s sign!
While the roof was perfect for Krystle and Stanley, I wanted a little something extra for that wedding party, so I again made great use of the study. It was so fun to do modern bridal party photos in a traditional setting.

Stanley is quiet, but don’t let him fool you! He certainly knows how to have a good time, and Krystle, Stanley, and their friends and family danced the rest of the night away.
